About Me
For more than 20 years, Mike Powell has been helping musicians of all ages build confidence, develop their skills, and discover the joy of making music. As the owner of Green Room Guitar Lessons & Recording Studio, Mike has dedicated his career to creating a welcoming environment where students can learn at their own pace and artists can bring their creative ideas to life.Music has been a lifelong passion. As an active musician for over two decades, Mike performs on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, and vocals while continuing to work with students and recording clients throughout the region. Every week, he teaches between 30 and 40 private students, giving him the opportunity to work with everyone from complete beginners to experienced players looking to sharpen their skills.
Mike believes that great music instruction is about more than learning chords or scales—it's about building confidence, encouraging creativity, and helping each student reach their own goals. Every lesson is personalized, whether you're learning your first song, exploring music theory, preparing for live performance, or simply looking to become a better musician. In addition to teaching, Mike has spent more than 20 years as a recording engineer, working with artists across a wide variety of musical styles. His experience behind the console gives students and recording clients a unique perspective on musicianship, performance, and producing great sound.
